Discovered in the fifteenth century, Malindi is a conservative town and the faith is predominantly Muslim. The Arab communities from the Middle East are present everywhere in this paradise of white sands. Located on the east coast of Kenya, Malindi is the epitome of tropical paradise with its exquisite blend of cultures and traditions, which were discovered by Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama in 1497. Malindi has always been the port of arrival and departure of various peoples such as Arabs, Portuguese, Germans and now Italians. The city proudly bears the official title of the favourite tourist destination in East Africa.
