Last week African leaders met in South Africa in an attempt to create the continent’s biggest free trade block. the new bloc would integrate the common market for eastern and southern Africa (COMESA), the East African Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).the so-called "grand" free trade area would encompass 26 countries, stretching from cape town to Cairo, with a combined population of 700 million people.
