Description: The Malian town of Mopti is known as the Venice of Africa because it’s surrounded by water, and it’s always been an important crossroads for trade. It lies where two great rivers meet and traditionally, life there has revolved around fishing. But now, the tourist seasons are taking on an equal economic importance, with more tourists visiting Mopti than any other district in Mali.
