Communities around the world have different ways of entertainment. There are those who sing and dance while others have different kinds of sports such as wrestling. While many communities have gone ahead and professionalized these sports or abandoned them altogether, the Abaluyia community of western Kenya have stuck to theirs.

The Abaluyia community of Western Kenya are famed for different kinds of ‘unusual’ sports. Sporting activities like traditional wrestling, bullfighting and even cockfighting draw countless spectators to the respective battlefields. In this story, three men square out in a bread-eating battle, where the winner not only eats his full loaf of bread, but gets rewarded for it.
