Rufas holds a diploma in Video and Film production from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC).

He is an all round individual with a flexible personality and is currently in charge of the Camerapix Archives and equipment .He is also a digital technology enthusiast and is currently involved in digitizing the Camerapix Archive which dates back to the early 60s.
