Ben Morison is the Project Leader for the Flipflopi expedition. Before Flipflopi Prior Ben spent a decade building a travel business focused on Africa – aided and abetted by lots of photos of the glorious Indian Ocean coastline from Kenya down to Cape Town. As a direct response to the alarming degradation of this coastline by plastics, and flip flops in particular, Ben started the FlipFlopi Project. There is clearly a huge lag between the scale of the ocean plastics problem and the level of awareness about it among-st everyday consumers. The FlipFlopi Project is committed to changing that. And James Wakibia is an a social activist and photographer. HE counts Boniface Mwangi and Wangari Maathai among his mentors. His activism helped bring to light the alarming practice Kenya hospitals had of keeping babies away from parents until bills were paid. He has moved his passion and focus to the movement to ban plastic bags in Kenya.
